UNBOUNDSOUL: The MANIFESTO
MADE in CANADA: All of our garments are produced in Canada. In so doing, we are helping to keep jobs and dollars in Canada, while sacrificing nothing to produce high quality garments. With local production we are able to uphold our code of conduct,including proper wages, working hours, and work environment. Producing locally also reduces energy consumption through decreased transportation and resource consumption, thereby minimising our carbon footprint. We work only with other artisans, which supports small run production. We benefit from decreased lead times and more personal communication and quality control in the manufacturing process; all of which is imperative for a designer to thrive in a cutthroat marketplace.
SLOW FASHION: It is imperative to UNBOUNDSOUL to produce timeless garments with the utmost care and skill. We believe the end consumer should invest in fewer pieces that are of uncompromised quality and longevity. We support the slow fashion movement in reducing clothing waste and encourage people to return to purchasing responsibly produced and versatile garments that will last a lifetime.
SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS: We use only renewable natural fibers, such as cotton, linen and silk, produced by plants and insects. When they are eventually returned to the environment, they break down into natural components. This reduces pollution in ocean, soils and watersheds. Unlike plastics, commonly found in mass produced garments, which cause pseudo-estrogen cancers, and do not break down when they reenter the environment:

Notre processus nous permet d’encourager l’économie locale tout en respectant desconditions de travail appropriées concernant les salaires, heures et environnements de travail. Produire localement réduit également la consommation d'énergie; la diminution du transport entraine la diminution des émissions des gaz à effet de serre et par extension notre empreinte carbone. La proximité de la fabrication permet une communication plus personnelle durant tout le processus de fabrication. Nous travaillons avec d’autres artisans ce qui favorise la production à petite échelle et l’emploi d’un savoir-faire plus traditionnel.
POUR UN MODE de CONSOMMATION DURABLE: Pour une consommation réfléchie et consciente, une consommation de produits intemporels de qualité exceptionnelle pour combattre la surproduction permanente de vêtements masse à bas prix, de basse qualité, en très grande quantités.
Des MATÉRIAUX DURABLES: Nous utilisons uniquement des matériaux naturels pour la confection des articles UNBOUNDSOUL comme le coton, le lin, ou la soie. Ceux-ci ont une empreinte écologique plus faible contrairement aux tissus faits de polyester, un dérivé du pétrole, extrêmement polluants à l’environnement, et qui prendront donc plusieurs dizaines d’années à se dégrader une fois jetés.
